In most cases, a person not covered on your auto insurance policy can drive your car, and your insurance company will cover him, the same way as it would cover you if you had been driving. There are a few exceptions to this rule, though, for example when the driver is a member of your household or does not have a valid driver's license. If you are in doubt, contact your insurance company before letting someone use your car.
